Saddlers Way is an ancient packhorse route that begins at Tegg’s Nose Country Park car park and leads towards Macclesfield Forest. The first section of the path is steep and uneven, so take care when walking down.

This historic trail was once part of a vital network of packhorse routes that transported goods across Cheshire and into the Pennines, long before modern roads existed. Teams of packhorses carried essential supplies such as salt from the Cheshire brine springs, Pennine wool, coal, stone, and cloth. Some of these routes were even known as "saltways" due to their role in the salt trade.
